Be realistic: as of 2026, the major AI search engines largely do not use llms.txt for citation decisions. However, Google’s experimental Agentic Browsing audit does check for it, and the standard may grow. So it’s a low-cost, forward-looking addition — not a citation silver bullet.

How to fix it

Create a plain-text file named llms.txt at your site root (yourdomain.com/llms.txt). A simple structure: your business name and a one-line description, a list of key pages (services, contact, about), and a short factual summary of the business and its expertise.

In WordPress you can add it via a small file in the site root (through your host’s file manager or cPanel), or a plugin that serves llms.txt.

How to check it worked

Re-scan. “llms.txt present” should turn green. Visit yourdomain.com/llms.txt to confirm it loads. Keep expectations grounded — this helps with agentic readiness more than with citation.
