Market / language / local coverage
Last updated:
Engines check whether your content actually covers the markets, languages and locations you claim to serve. A transfer service that says it covers “the Gold Coast & Northern NSW” should demonstrably cover those areas.
Why this matters
This is partly L1 (your declared areaServed and languages) and partly L2 (whether real content backs the claim). Declaring coverage you don’t actually demonstrate is a mismatch engines can spot.
How to improve it
- Set
areaServedand your target markets explicitly in schema, and settarget_languagesfor the markets you serve. - Create genuine content for the locations and services you cover.
- If you serve multiple languages, use
hreflangand real translated content — not machine dumps. - Align your claims with your actual coverage.
How to check it worked
Re-scan — Market and language coverage should improve as your declared areas match real content on the page.
An honest caveat
Declare only what you genuinely serve. Over-claiming coverage backfires — engines and customers both notice when the content doesn’t back the claim.
