Improving your brand presence for AI search
Last updated:
Your brand score sits beside the technical /10 — it measures whether AI engines can identify you, trust you, and recommend you. It’s scored on seven signals. Some we read straight from your page (L1); two can only be confirmed by a live cross-engine audit (L2). Pick the red ones below.
What L1 and L2 mean
L1 signals are the ones we can read from your page right now — your schema, your declared areas, your dateModified. L2 signals can’t be seen from a single page scan: they need us to actually query ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini and scan the wider web to see how — and how often — you’re named. Those dimensions show as “pending L2” until a cross-engine audit runs.
The seven brand signals
- Entity resolution & identity (L1) — can engines work out who you are from one complete, consistent entity?
- Third-party corroboration (L1/L2) — do independent sites confirm you’re real and reputable?
- Review & reputation health (L1/L2) — steady, recent, genuine reviews you actually reply to.
- AI recommendation visibility & SOV (L2) — do the engines name and recommend you, and how often versus competitors?
- Source breadth / concentration (L2) — are you corroborated across many independent sources, or fragile on one?
- Freshness & issue governance (L1/L2) — is your information current, consistent and corrected when wrong?
- Market / language / local coverage (L1/L2) — does your content actually cover the markets and languages you claim?
