How to give a page enough genuinely useful content
Last updated:
AI Search Score checks that a page has enough substance to be worth citing — roughly 400+ words for a standard page. The emphasis is on useful, not padded.
Why this matters
Very thin pages give AI engines little to work with, so they’re rarely the chosen source. But the fix is not to pad with filler — engines (and readers) see through that. The goal is genuine, clear, well-structured content that answers real questions. Clarity and completeness matter more than hitting a word count.
How to fix it
- Add the information a visitor actually needs: what you offer, how it works, who it’s for, answers to common questions.
- Use clear headings and short paragraphs so the content is scannable and quotable.
- Lead sections with direct answers, then elaborate — this makes content easy for AI to lift.
- If a page is genuinely meant to be short (a contact page), that’s fine; this check is a minor nudge, not a hard rule.
How to check it worked
Re-scan. “Sufficient content depth” should turn green once the page has enough real substance. Don’t add filler to game it — if the content is genuinely complete and still short, that’s an acceptable judgement call.
